La section «objectifs de l’EFD» décrit les caractéristiques que nous désirons trouver chez nos diplômés. Pour chacun de ces objectifs, nous avons identifié des désirs que nous espérons cultiver ; nous suggérons des pratiques qui vont faciliter le travail du Saint-Esprit et la transformation du coeur du disciple. Ces pratiques sont intégrées dans les phases théorique et pratique lors de la création de l’EFD.
Lorsque vous incluez des pratiques chrétiennes dans la conception de votre EFD, pensez à comment vous allez aider le disciple à établir des liens entre ce qu’il fait et ce qu’il apprend de la Bible. Ces pratiques doivent avoir de la valeur dans le contexte du narratif biblique, et doivent être tissées dans l’histoire de leurs vies.
L’EFD vise à produire des diplômés qui démontrent les qualités suivantes:

- Learn from the lives of those who have remained faithful in service to the Lord. Read books or ask them personally what has helped them persevere and serve faithfully
- Ask those who have served faithfully to pray with you and for you as you seek to know and follow God’s will for your life
